Mooresville, NC – Downtown Mooresville has a sparkling new addition: The Refillery LKN. This isn’t your average store; it’s a haven for eco-conscious shoppers and a beacon of sustainability in the heart of our community.

The Refillery LKN was born from owner Karen Keasey’s “love for retail and a deep desire to make a difference,” as she explains. “My journey to founding The Refillery LKN was shaped by a vision of a welcoming space where people can come together to reduce plastic waste, reuse materials, and embrace a sustainable lifestyle.”

And that’s exactly what she’s created. At The Refillery LKN, you can ditch the single-use plastics and embrace a greener way of life. Fill up your own containers (or purchase one from their stylish selection) with a wide range of products, from eco-friendly laundry, kitchen, and cleaning supplies to personal care items such as shampoos, lotions, and body wash. They even have a section dedicated to pet supplies, stocking items like wipes, bath wash, dental wipes, and toys.

“We welcome customers to bring their own glass or metal containers to refill, plus we provide containers for sale as well,” Keasey explains. “It’s a self-serve model, or we are happy to assist with weighing and filling.”

The Refillery LKN isn’t just about reducing plastic waste; it’s about building a community. “The Refillery is more than a store, it’s a community hub,” Keasey emphasizes. “It’s a place where people can shop sustainable, eco-friendly products, and by choosing to refill and reuse they are contributing to reducing the amount of plastic entering landfill and oceans.”

Keasey envisions a space where residents can connect with like-minded individuals, learn about sustainable living, and even participate in workshops and educational programs.

“We will have a sustained effort to provide workshops, educational programs, product literature, as well as partner with like-minded organizations in the area to promote a sustainable future,” Keasey explains.

Addressing a common concern, Keasey shares, “People think it’s too expensive to make this lifestyle change. I’ve had customers come in and say ‘I didn’t think I could afford it, but I actually can!’” proving that sustainable living can be both affordable and accessible.

“Come in and try us! The concept is all about doing a small part to make a big impact on our environment,” Keasey encourages. “Watch “Buy Now” on Netflix and see why we are trying to make a difference with our store.”

Keasey highlights some of her favorite products: “I love the 100% wool dryer balls, the sugar scrubs, the body lotion, and my favorite is the customers.”

The Refillery LKN also prioritizes supporting local businesses.

“We have partnered with Lake Norman Garden Center to provide pesticide-free plants for our customers,” Keasey explains. “As we continue to expand our product inventory, we will work to ensure we provide more locally sourced products.”

And for Keasey, the most rewarding part is connecting with the community. “As I’ve said, I have a passion for retail and this type of merchandising,” she shares. “I love to interact with customers and tell the story of the products and the ‘why’ behind them.”
