Mooresville to Honor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with “Mission Possible Dream Bigger” Event

MOORESVILLE, NC – The Town of Mooresville invites residents and visitors to come together to celebrate the life, legacy, and vision of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the annual MLK Day event on Monday, January 20, 2025. “Mission Possible: Dream Bigger” will take place at the Charles Mack Citizen Center and will feature a community peace walk, breakfast, and program to promote unity, and reflection.

The day’s events will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a Peace Walk, symbolizing solidarity and commitment to Dr. King’s ideals of equality. Participants are encouraged to gather on Main St. in front of the Charles Mack Citizen Center. The walk will conclude back at the Charles Mack Citizen Center, where the celebration will continue.

Following the Peace Walk, attendees with tickets are welcome to enjoy a community breakfast fostering fellowship among neighbors and friends. The breakfast will lead into an inspiring program that pays tribute to Dr. King’s legacy. The program will feature Keynote speaker, Pastor Sheldon McIver, as well as musical and dance performances celebrating the impact Dr. King has on our society.

“Mission Possible: Dream Bigger” serves as a reminder of Dr. King’s call to action, encouraging participants to work toward building a more inclusive and equitable community.
