Lake Norman Regional Medical Center’s Mitzie McCurdy Presents on Iredell Council on Aging to Rotary Club

Mooresville, NC – At the Rotary Club of Mooresville’s morning meeting on January 7, 2025, Mitzie McCurdy, Provider Recruiter at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, delivered a compelling presentation on the valuable services offered by the Iredell Council on Aging.

McCurdy, who also serves as a board member for the Iredell Council on Aging, was joined by Catherine Mandres, Senior Center Program Manager, and Jennifer Barraclough, Executive Director. Together, the trio provided Rotarians with a comprehensive overview of the various programs and resources available to senior citizens in the community.

The presentation highlighted the critical role the Iredell Council on Aging plays in supporting older adults, including:

  • Essential services: Providing transportation, meals, and in-home care to assist seniors with daily living activities.
  • Social and recreational programs: Offering a variety of activities such as exercise classes, arts and crafts, and social events to combat isolation and promote healthy aging.
  • Caregiver support: Providing resources and support for family members and caregivers of seniors.
  • Advocacy: Advocating for the needs of older adults at the local and state level.

The Rotary Club of Mooresville expressed their appreciation for the informative presentation and the vital work being done by the Iredell Council on Aging to enhance the quality of life for seniors in the community.
