The Town of Mooresville and the Mooresville Spinners have reached a mutual resolution regarding the Spinners’ lease of Moor Park. We acknowledge the significant public interest in this partnership as well as the strong community commitment to having baseball as part of the fabric of Mooresville.
John Wilcox, Principal Owner of the Mooresville Spinners shared, “We are grateful to the Spinners fans and to this community for more than a decade of support, and we appreciate the support the Town of Mooresville extended to the Spinners over the years. We are proud of the Spinners’ history at Moor Park, and we give credit to the Town for making that possible with its contributions. As we turn to the next chapter, we ask everyone who loves this team to join us in supporting the Town of Mooresville and keeping the conversation respectful and looking forward. We do not support the negativity that has been directed at the Town or its leaders. We look forward to cheering on the next chapter of baseball in Mooresville and wish the community many happy seasons to come when the updated Moor Park opens for the next generation of play.”
Established in 2014, the Mooresville Spinners field a summer collegiate baseball team in the Southern Collegiate Baseball League and have won five championships in that league across their history.
In early 2025, the Town of Mooresville began a large-scale renovation of the historic Moor Park with a goal of making this location a place for the community to enjoy for years to come. “While we are excited by the possibilities a new Moor Park brings, we would not be where we are today without the love of baseball that the Mooresville Spinners have supported in this town for more than a decade,” said Mooresville Mayor Pro Tem Eddie Dingler. “I would like to thank them for their collaboration over the years and for their commitment to providing a great opportunity for our community to come together.”
