Ten years ago today, a photograph taken at the Downtown Mooresville Candy Grab marked the beginning of something special. On October 28, 2016, Mooresville Now shared its first photo on Facebook, beginning a journey that would grow into a decade of celebrating the people, places, and stories that make Mooresville unique.
At the time, there was no way of knowing just how many stories would be told, how many memories would be captured, or how many people would become part of the journey.
The idea behind Mooresville Now was simple: create a place where residents could discover the good things happening around them. From community celebrations and local businesses to historic photographs and the stories of longtime residents, the goal was to shine a positive light on the town and the people who call it home.

Over the past 10 years, Mooresville has experienced tremendous growth and change. New neighborhoods have taken shape, businesses have opened their doors, familiar landmarks have evolved, and community traditions have continued to bring people together.
Through it all, Mooresville Now has been there to capture moments both big and small.
Some of the most meaningful stories have come from looking into the town’s past. Historic photographs, memories shared by longtime residents, and stories about buildings that have stood for generations have offered readers a glimpse into the Mooresville that once was.

Other stories have celebrated the present, highlighting community festivals, local talent, small businesses, seasonal celebrations, beautiful Lake Norman sunsets, and the everyday moments that make living here special.

Not every story needs to be breaking news. Sometimes, a photograph of a familiar street, a forgotten piece of local history, or a neighbor doing something kind can bring a community together.
That philosophy has remained at the heart of Mooresville Now since the beginning.
What began as a Facebook page has grown into a local media platform with its own website, MooresvilleNow.com, along with a presence on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
Today, Mooresville Now receives more than a million views each month across its platforms, a milestone made possible by the continued interest and support of the community.

But beyond the numbers, the most rewarding part has been the connections made along the way.
Residents have contributed photographs, shared family memories, suggested stories, celebrated local achievements, and helped preserve pieces of Mooresville’s history that might otherwise have been forgotten.

Every contribution has helped make Mooresville Now more than simply a place to find local information. It has become a place where the community can share its stories.
To mark the 10th anniversary, Mooresville Now is revisiting its very first Facebook photograph from the Downtown Mooresville Candy Grab on October 28, 2016.

That single image serves as a reminder of how much can happen in 10 years.
A special anniversary video also brings together photographs from throughout the decade, offering a look back at community celebrations, familiar places, and memorable moments captured along the way.
For longtime followers, the images may bring back memories of events attended, places visited, or people they recognize. For newer residents, they offer a glimpse into Mooresville’s recent history and the traditions that continue to shape the community.

As Mooresville Now celebrates this milestone, one thing remains unchanged: its appreciation for the community that has supported it.
To everyone who has followed the page, visited the website, shared a photograph, suggested a story, left a comment, or simply taken a moment to enjoy a post, thank you.
Your support has made these 10 years possible.

While Mooresville continues to grow and change, there will always be new stories to discover, memories to preserve, and reasons to celebrate the place we call home.
Here’s to 10 years of Mooresville Now, and to many more years of sharing the good in our community.
Happy 10th Anniversary, Mooresville Now!
