Prodigy Learning Announces First North Carolina School, Opening in Mooresville in November 2026

A new educational opportunity is coming to Mooresville! Prodigy Learning is preparing to open its first North Carolina location, bringing its inquiry-based approach to early childhood education to the Lake Norman community.

Known as Prodigy at Lake Norman, the new school will be located at 185 W. Waterlyn Road in Mooresville, with a projected opening in November 2026.

According to Alexis Allenson, Operations Specialist for Prodigy Learning, the organization is excited to establish its first school in North Carolina and become part of the Mooresville community.

Prodigy Learning emphasizes inquiry-based education, encouraging children to explore, ask questions, think creatively, and develop problem-solving skills through hands-on experiences.

According to the school’s website, its curriculum combines traditional academic subjects, including math, literacy, and science, with creative activities such as visual arts, music appreciation, cooking, and gardening.

The school’s educational philosophy encourages children to learn through exploration, collaboration, and projects designed to spark curiosity.

Prodigy Learning’s educational model includes programs for several age groups. Its Nido program, designed for children ages birth to 3, focuses on sensory exploration, early development, and building meaningful relationships. The Preschool program, for ages 3 to 5, emphasizes communication, collaboration, and project-based learning.

The organization’s Primary School program, covering kindergarten through fifth grade, incorporates science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM), along with individualized learning plans and collaborative activities. Families are encouraged to contact the Mooresville location to confirm which programs and age groups will be available when the school opens.

As preparations continue for the November opening, Prodigy Learning plans to begin hosting open houses and school tours. These opportunities will give interested parents a chance to learn more about the school’s educational approach, explore the facility, and ask questions about available programs.

Specific dates for open houses and tours have not yet been announced.
