Mooresville, NC – Downtown Mooresville has a fresh new look! To commemorate the upcoming Mooresville Motorsports Celebration, the crosswalks at Main Street and Moore Avenue have been transformed into eye-catching checkered racing flags. This unique design is a nod to the town’s rich racing heritage and is sure to be a popular spot for photos.
The new crosswalk design was unveiled ahead of the annual North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which will take place on Tuesday, October 8th from 5-8 p.m. The event will feature a classic car show, racing activities, food trucks, beer vendors, and live entertainment.
“I think it’s exciting for us to honor our heritage as Race City USA by putting a true stamp on the concrete,” said Commissioner Lisa Qualls. “The team did a wonderful job on the decorative crosswalks and I am looking forward to everyone enjoying them!”
The Town of Mooresville invites everyone to join the celebration and witness the induction of Shirley “Cha-Cha” Muldowney and Elliott Forbes-Robinson into the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame.
