Mooresville, NC – The Mooresville Police Department (MPD) has successfully coordinated a community-wide effort to collect essential baby supplies for families affected by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina.
The initiative was spearheaded by MPD Detective Tuckler, who recognized the urgent need for a secure drop-off location for breast milk, formula, and other baby supplies. In response, the community quickly mobilized, offering their time, resources, and support to establish a collection point in the local community room.
Within just 12 hours of opening, the collection point had received a significant influx of donations, including breast pumps, pumping and feeding supplies, postpartum care items, and other medical supplies. The generosity of the community was overwhelming, with 15 storage bins donated by Lowe’s to accommodate the growing volume of donations.
“We know our community is amazing, but this is beyond words,” said Detective Tuckler. “Thank you for providing hope to parents and babies impacted by Helene!”
The MPD would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers, donors, and organizations that have contributed to the success of this initiative. Their efforts have made a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by Hurricane Helene.
