Uncorked & Artsy: A Celebration of Local Talent and Community Spirit in Downtown Mooresville

Mooresville, NC – Downtown Mooresville came alive this past weekend with Uncorked & Artsy, an enchanting blend of creativity, culture, and community. This unique art walk and wine and beer tasting event, a collaboration between the Mooresville Downtown Commission and Mooresville Arts, brought together art lovers and neighbors for an unforgettable evening of local talent, fine beverages, and charitable giving.

Art in Every Corner

The art walk, free and open to the public, showcased a stunning variety of artwork from talented local artists, including the father and son, Richard and Jason Clewell. Both members of Mooresville Arts, the Clewells share a passion for plein-air painting—an approach that takes them beyond their studios and into the heart of the landscape. During the event, the Clewells captured two different corners of Downtown Mooresville on canvas, their live demonstrations adding an immersive, creative energy to the streets. Visitors were invited to watch as their brushstrokes brought the town to life, with their art available for viewing and purchase.

Beyond plein-air painting, attendees explored various artistic mediums, enjoying live demonstrations and opportunities to engage with the artists themselves. Mooresville Arts continues to play a pivotal role in cultivating local talent, and with a portion of the event’s ticket sales being donated to support their efforts, the evening felt like a celebration of both the arts and the community’s shared commitment to fostering creativity.

Sip, Shop, and Support Local Causes

Uncorked & Artsy wasn’t just about the visual arts—it also brought together the flavors of the region. Attendees enjoyed a curated selection of wine and beer tastings at various local businesses, making each stop on the tour a delightful pairing of small business shopping and artisan beverages. Stores like Fred and June’s, a charming local bookstore, not only participated in the tastings but also directed their proceeds toward North Carolina Disaster Relief, reinforcing the event’s emphasis on community support.

Inspired by the generosity of Fred and June’s, local artisan Amy, known affectionately as Coffee and Glitter Mom, chose to contribute as well. She donated a portion of her proceeds from the event to Piedmont Animal Shelter, bringing a heartwarming sense of kindness to the evening’s festivities.

A Vibrant Community Event

As visitors strolled through Downtown Mooresville, they experienced more than just art and wine—they were part of a community event that celebrated the very essence of the town. Uncorked & Artsy not only highlighted the creative talents of Mooresville’s residents but also strengthened the bonds between neighbors and local businesses, as people explored shops, sipped local flavors, and contributed to causes that matter.

With its unique combination of artistic expression, local business support, and charitable giving, Uncorked & Artsy left a lasting impression on everyone who attended. As the evening came to a close, it was clear that this event, with its blend of art, culture, and community, is a celebration of all that makes Mooresville special.
