Local Girl Scouts are set to celebrate Girl Scout Week, a national yearly tradition, with this year’s celebration taking place from Sunday, March 9 through Saturday, March 15. Observed each March, the week begins with Girl Scout Sunday, ends with Girl Scout Shabbat on a Saturday and always includes Girl Scouts’ birthday, March 12, known as National Girl Scout Day. This year marks the 113th birthday which commemorates the day in 1912 when Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the organization’s first 18 members in Savannah, Georgia.

“It’s an honor to celebrate our rich history and traditions every year during Girl Scout Week with our members,” said Jennifer Wilcox, CEO of Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont (GSCP2P).
“This week- full of fun, friendship and service- is also a great opportunity for our communities to learn more about the impact of Girl Scouting and how they can get involved in giving back.”

The 2025 Girl Scout Week has themed days like Troop Tuesday and Service Saturday so Girl Scouts, their families and volunteers can show their Girl Scout spirit all week long. There’s also a social media challenge to share Flat Juliette adventures and tag GSCP2P on Facebook or @girlscoutsp2p on Instagram and TikTok. Users can search #FlatJuliette to see all the places Girl Scouts can go. More information on the week’s activities and themed days can be found on the GSCP2P blog on their website.

Locals do not have to be a member to join in the festivities of Girl Scout Week. There are two campaigns with digital components so any person can give back no matter where they are located:

Kendra Scott Biltmore Park Grand Opening:
Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont has been chosen as a philanthropic recipient of Kendra Scott’s grand opening at Biltmore Park in Asheville on March 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. 20% of sales will be donated to GSCP2P’s Hurricane Helene relief efforts. Customers can also shop online March 8 and 9 at kendrascott.com and enter the code GIVEBACK-GSCP2P at checkout to support the council.

For the Love of Girl Scouts:
This is a special e-card donation campaign running through Monday, March 10. For just a $5 donation to the One P2P Fund, donors can send Girl Scout love to a friend or family member while supporting local Girl Scout families affected by Hurricane Helene with membership and troop support as well as uniform replacement. The council encourages everyone to share the love for Girl Scout Week, so donors don’t have to be a member to send or receive the card celebrating friendship. Learn more and send an e-card at bit.ly/fortheloveofgirlscouts by March 10.

We’re Girl Scouts of the USA
We Are Girl Scouts: Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Through programs from coast to coast, Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges—whether they want to climb to the top of a tree or the top of their class, lace up their boots for a hike or advocate for climate justice or make their first best friends. Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them.
