The Town of Mooresville, in partnership with the Exchange Club of Mooresville/Lake Norman and Richard’s Coffee Shop, will commemorate the 25th Anniversary of September 11 with a morning of remembrance on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Liberty Park.
The memorial ceremony will honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, remember the heroes who responded in the face of tragedy, and recognize the lasting courage, sacrifice and resilience demonstrated by first responders, members of the military and communities across the nation.

The morning will begin at 8:46 a.m. with a silent Remembrance Walk from Richard’s Coffee Shop to Liberty Park, marking the moment that changed our nation forever. The Memorial Ceremony will begin at 9 a.m.

Guest speakers Bob Hogan, President and CEO of Clermont Trust, USA, LLC, and Reid Davis, FBI Special Agent in Charge, will join community leaders and first responders in honoring the legacy of September 11.
Bob Hogan served as the Chief Operations Officer for Bank of America Securities. His Operations Group was located on the 81st floor of One World Trade Center in New York City. Bob was present on the floor the morning of September 11, 2001. After ensuring his team of 150 associates exited safely, Bob was one of the last to leave the building, taking over 1 hour and 10 minutes to reach the street—a life-altering experience that continues to shape how he lives each day and pursues his passion for doing what he loves.
Paul “Reid” Davis currently serves as Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Charlotte Field Office, overseeing the FBI’s operations across North Carolina. Throughout his FBI career, he has held leadership positions in national security and counterterrorism-related work.
The memorial will feature patriotic music, and special tributes honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Students from Mooresville Graded School District and Iredell-Statesville Schools will also offer their reflections on the meaning of September 11 and the enduring importance of remembrance through performances and essays.

A feature of this year’s 25th Anniversary ceremony will be a musical performance by world-renowned tenor Anthony Kearns. Kearns is an internationally acclaimed tenor and a founding member of the world-renowned Irish Tenors where he gained international recognition following their celebrated PBS debut in 1999. Kearns has since performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, the Sydney Opera House and with leading symphony orchestras across the United States and Europe.
In addition to performing with the Irish Tenors Kearns, a celebrated solo artist, has performed for U.S. presidents, Pope Francis and at numerous national commemorative events, including the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York City. Known for his powerful voice and heartfelt performances, Kearns has become a respected ambassador for Irish music and a frequent supporter of charitable and patriotic causes.
The Town of Mooresville and its partners invite all community members to gather for this meaningful day of remembrance that continues to shape our nation 25 years later.
