At just 10 years old, Harper is already making her mark as a young entrepreneur! She’s a sweet, caring, and compassionate girl, kind to both people and animals, who has always had an artistic streak. Her love for art blossomed when she started third grade — even though she was battling Mono at the time, she worked tirelessly on her entry for the school yearbook contest, taking it slow and steady. All that hard work paid off when she won the front cover!

Harper’s favorite craft to make is her beautiful jars. She loves them because they’re easy to make, sell well, and look stunning when finished. Her inspiration for new creations usually comes from her mom, who finds ideas for them to try together (even though mom admits she isn’t very artistic!). Luckily, Harper and her daddy have all the artistic talent in the family!

What truly drives Harper is her desire for independence — she loves being able to buy the things she wants, like markers, craft supplies, makeup, and Stanley cups, all with money she’s earned herself. The local community has been incredibly supportive, offering her kind encouragement and new business opportunities.

Harper’s family backs her every step of the way. They take her to Michael’s for supplies, pay vendor fees, and even lend her money when needed. They’re also honest with her, letting her know when something doesn’t look quite right so she can make it better.

One of Harper’s biggest challenges has been overcoming her shyness, but she’s tackled it head-on by selling her crafts at events. Her first craft show, held the same month she won the yearbook contest, was a huge boost for her confidence. She’s had success at every spot she’s tried — from the Lake Forest Huntersville craft shows to Zanders Bistro, her neighborhood, and even her elementary school. Coming up, Harper will be at the Troutman Ruritan Craft Show on June 21st, and she’s been hired to make her jars as wedding favors for a December wedding!

Through this journey, Harper has grown more social and assertive, and she’s learning the joy of giving back. After she finishes the jars for the wedding, she’ll be making some for Mooresville Feed NC restaurant tables.

Harper’s family hopes she’ll keep loving her crafts and discovering new things to create — all while learning the value of hard work and giving back to others. With each new project, Harper grows prouder and more accomplished, and they can’t wait to see where her creativity and drive will take her next!
