Mooresville, NC – In the heart of Mooresville, a group of dedicated Boy Scouts are gearing up for a heartwarming mission. Inspired by the joy and excitement that Halloween brings to children, they are working to create a memorable experience for those who might not have the opportunity to enjoy the traditional trick-or-treating festivities.
The scouts’ ambitious goal is to collect 200-300 individual Halloween-themed goodie bags filled with candy, stickers, and small toys. With the help of the community, they hope to spread some holiday cheer and make a difference in the lives of children in Western North Carolina who were affected by Hurricane Helene.
Mooresville resident Amanda Yates-Trapani, whose son is in the Arrow of Light Den Boy Scouts troop 377 and whose husband is the assistant leader, is organizing the candy drive.
Starting today, Monday, October 21, 2024, a donation box will be available at the Publix Super Market at Brawley Commons, located at 631 Brawley School Rd, Mooresville, NC 28117. The community is invited to drop off candy, small toys, and stickers to help the scouts achieve their goal.
With the support of the community, the scouts are confident that they can bring a little joy and happiness to the lives of children who may have been impacted by Hurricane Helene. Their efforts are a testament to the power of kindness and the positive impact that even small acts can have on the lives of others.
You can find the candy donation box on the front wall by the cash registers in Publix. Look for the orange box and pumpkin balloon. Let’s show our support for the Boy Scouts and the children in Western North Carolina by filling up the box with Halloween candy. Every donation counts!
