Rep. Todd Carver Visits Mooresville High School for Legislators in Schools Week

North Carolina legislators are actively participating in Legislators in Schools Week, an initiative designed to foster greater understanding and connection between lawmakers and the state’s educational system. As part of this program, Representative Todd Carver visited Mooresville High School on Monday, April 7, 2025, engaging with students, faculty, and administrators.

During his visit, Representative Carver had the opportunity to observe classrooms, interact with students on various topics, and gain firsthand insight into the daily operations and educational environment of Mooresville High School’s Career and Technical Education program. Discussions ranged from curriculum and extracurricular activities to the challenges and opportunities facing public education in North Carolina.

“It’s incredibly valuable to spend time directly in our schools and hear from the students and educators who are shaping the future,” said Representative Carver. “My visit to Mooresville High School provided me with a deeper understanding of their successes and the areas where legislative support can be most impactful. The students were engaged and thoughtful, and the dedication of the faculty is truly commendable.”

MGSD Superintendent Jason Gardner expressed his appreciation for Representative Carver’s visit. “We were honored to host Representative Carver and share the great learning environment at Mooresville High School. These interactions are crucial for building strong relationships between our educational community and our representatives in the legislature. It allows our students and staff to share their experiences directly and for our lawmakers to see the positive impact of their work and understand the needs on the ground.”

By visiting schools across the state, lawmakers can gather valuable perspectives that will inform their policy decisions related to education.
