Future Innovators Tour Teijin Automotive Technologies

On Tuesday, students from Mooresville High School’s Advanced Manufacturing and Principles of Engineering classes had the exciting opportunity to go beyond the classroom and into the real world of high-tech production. The classes took a field trip to Teijin Automotive Technologies in Salisbury, a leading supplier in the automotive and transportation industries.

Teijin Automotive is renowned for developing lightweight, advanced composite materials that help shape the future of mobility. From Class A closures and pickup boxes to modular roof systems, EV battery carriers, and other structural components, their innovations are helping to streamline vehicle design, improve fuel efficiency, and support the growing electric vehicle market.

During the visit, students received a behind-the-scenes look at the company’s cutting-edge processes, learning how modern manufacturing integrates engineering, technology, and sustainability. The tour not only showcased the vast potential of advanced composites but also highlighted a wide range of career paths in engineering, design, and production.
