Mooresville Student Named Finalist in Global Film Contest

Meet Daisy Solano, a shining star from Mooresville High School’s Film and Media program in North Carolina!

Daisy’s powerful video, ‘Helping Children Have Childhoods,’ has earned her a well-deserved spot as Finalist in the international WORLD of 8 BILLION student video contest.

The 2025 judging panel included 51 experts from around the world. The contest, which drew over 3,200 submissions from students worldwide, challenges young minds to address one of three pressing global issues – Child Wellbeing, Rainforest Ecosystems, or Sanitation – and propose a sustainable solution in a 1-minute video. More than $10,000 in prizes are awarded annually to student filmmakers in recognition of their outstanding effort and achievement.

This achievement is a testament to Daisy’s creativity, passion, and commitment to driving positive change. With her outstanding effort, she’s not only inspiring her peers but also proving that every individual has the potential to make a real difference.
