Leonid Meteor Shower Could Light Up the Night Sky This Weekend

Mooresville, NC – Local stargazers are gearing up for the Leonid meteor shower this weekend. Known for its vibrant fireballs and Earth-grazing meteors, the Leonid shower could illuminate the night sky.

The peak viewing time is expected to be Sunday night into Monday morning, with the best viewing window from midnight until dawn. However, weather conditions may play a significant role, with parts of the Southeast and Northern Plains offering the clearest skies.

While the Leonid shower is renowned for its intensity, cloud cover could hinder visibility in some areas. Residents are encouraged to check local weather forecasts for the most accurate predictions.

To maximize the viewing experience, stargazers are advised to find a dark, open location away from city lights.
