The Town of Mooresville, North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame and Visit Mooresville will celebrate Mooresville’s deep roots in racing at the 2026 Mooresville Motorsports Celebration, taking place Tuesday, October 6th from 4-7 p.m. on Main Street in Downtown Mooresville. This event is free to attend and promises a full throttle evening of race-themed activities, food trucks, a classic car show, and a ceremony honoring motorsports icons.
The highlight of this event is the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame “Walk of Fame” Induction Ceremony Presented by Visit Mooresville, where two NASCAR legends—Dale Jarrett and Ron Hornaday Jr.—will be officially inducted into the Hall’s prestigious Walk of Fame. The ceremony will begin at 5 p.m.
Meet the 2026 Inductees
NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Jarrett is one of the most accomplished and respected figures in motorsports history. A 1999 NASCAR Cup Series Champion and three-time Daytona 500 winner (1993, 1996, 2000), Jarrett earned 32 NASCAR Cup Series victories during a distinguished driving career spanning more than two decades. The son of two-time NASCAR champion Ned Jarrett, Dale built his own legendary legacy through consistent excellence, sportsmanship, and success on the sport’s biggest stages. Following his retirement from competition, Jarrett transitioned into a highly regarded broadcasting career and continues to serve as an ambassador for NASCAR. He was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2014 and remains one of the sport’s most recognizable and influential champions.
Ron Hornaday Jr. is one of the most successful drivers in NASCAR Truck Series history and a true legend of the sport. A four-time NASCAR Truck Series Champion (1996, 1998, 2007, and 2009), Hornaday holds the record for the most Truck Series championships and earned 51 series victories during his remarkable racing career. Known for his toughness, consistency, and competitive spirit, Hornaday helped establish the NASCAR Truck Series as a premier motorsports division and became one of its defining stars. His accomplishments earned him induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2018, cementing his legacy as one of NASCAR’s all-time great champions.
