Hope of Mooresville (HOMe) is proud to announce the launch of its first LKN Housing Heroes Challenge, a friendly competition using peer-to-peer fundraising teams to compete for the title of 2026 LKN’s Housing Hero. The campaign runs April 1 through April 30.
The LKN Housing Heroes Challenge invites individuals, businesses, churches, and friends and family groups across the Lake Norman area to form teams, and raise critical funds to support homeless women and children working toward housing stability and long-term independence.
HOMe has experienced an increase in calls from homeless families seeking assistance. “This campaign will bring our community together in a powerful way,” said Dr. Amy DeCaron, Executive Director of HOMe.

“Every dollar donated will help families move from crisis to stability with hope for a brighter future.” Funds raised will directly support essential programs and services provided by HOMe, including temporary housing, financial education, employment placement, credit rebuilding, and individual case management.
The campaign will conclude with a community celebration on May 1 at 6PM at Hoptown, where participants and supporters will gather to celebrate the collective impact and crown the 2026 LKN’s Housing Hero.
“We believe everyone has the ability to be a hero in someone’s story,” added Lucynda Caceres HOMe Development Coordinator. “This campaign gives our community a tangible way to step in and make a difference.”
