The Town of Mooresville invites the community to experience Mooresville’s first-ever drone show at Liberty Park in Downtown Mooresville as part of this year’s expanded Symphony Under the Stars on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 7 p.m. The evening will feature performances by Rockie Lynne, the North Carolina Brass Band and the Lake Norman Philharmonic, followed by an Drone Show celebrating 250 years of American history.
A longtime community tradition, Symphony Under the Stars brings an evening of music and entertainment to Liberty Park each fall. This year’s event will honor the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with a special celebration that combines live performances with a first-of-its-kind aerial experience for Mooresville.
An Evening of Live Music
Guests can enjoy an evening of live music in the outdoor setting of Liberty Park , with three performances spanning Country, Brass, and Orchestral music.
Rockie Lynne will bring his signature blend of Country and Rock to the stage. A North Caroline native and accomplished singer, songwriter and guitarist, Lynne is known for hits including “Ain’t America Beautiful” and “Red, White & Blue.” His energetic performance will kick off the evening.
North Carolina Brass Bands will follow with its dynamic brass sound. The ensemble features talented brass and percussion musicians who perform a wide range of music while showcasing the versatility and power of the brass band tradition. Their performance will add a lively brass presence to the evening’s diverse musical lineup.
Lake Norman Philharmonic will round out the live music lineup with a full orchestral performance. The regional orchestra brings symphonic music to audiences throughout the Lake Norman area. Its performance will lead into the evening’s America250 Drone Show, creating a fitting transition into the celebration in the sky.
America250 Drone Show
In honor of the nation’s 250th anniversary, the Town of Mooresville will conclude Symphony Under the Stars with an America250 Drone Show. The special presentation will use coordinated drones to create a spectacular visual celebration highlighting 250 years of American history, North Carolina history and Mooresville’s place in that story. Set against the backdrop of Liberty Park, the show will bring the evening’s celebration to a memorable close with a one-of-a-kind aerial experience for the community.
Food and beverage vendors will also be on site, providing guests with options to enjoy throughout the evening. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and make plans to enjoy an evening of live music, community and celebration before looking to the sky for this special finale.
