PLP’s Phoenix Myers a Finalist for UNC Chapel Hill Scholarship

Phoenix Myers, senior at Pine Lake Preparatory, is a Finalist for the prestigious Morehead-Cain Scholarship. a four year, full tuition scholarship to UNC Chapel Hill awarded for leadership, character, scholarship, and physical vigor.

In addition to full tuition, scholars have the opportunity to participate in an international experience prior to beginning freshman year, as well as summer enrichment programs.

Phoenix is an exemplary student with a 4.7 GPA and has been a part of the Varsity Volleyball team for four years, leading her team as captain to the 3A championship this past fall. She was elected PLP Homecoming Queen by her peers and teachers last fall.

She is also an active member of the community; she has been in the National Charity League (NCL) Lake Norman Chapter since 7th grade where she has held positions of President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer, and won the Presidential Service award 3 years in a row.

Phoenix has earned a Business Certificate through dual enrollment with Mitchell Community College. She is a co-owner of local screen printing and embroidery shop, Ultimate Swag, with her parents and enjoys designing and producing custom designs for her sports teams and the NCL.

Phoenix has already been admitted to UNC-Chapel Hill and directly admitted to the Kenan-Flagler Business School. She will interview at UNC with approximately 150 Finalists; and 75 Morehead-Cain Scholarships will be awarded.
