Mooresville Graded School District has announced that there will be no school for students on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, due to lingering hazardous road conditions across the area.
While sunshine and rising temperatures have improved many main roads over the past two days, district officials say some neighborhoods and secondary roads remain unsafe, prompting the decision to cancel in-person classes.
What Families Need to Know
No In-Person School
- All MGSD schools will be closed to students on Wednesday.
Extracurricular Activities Canceled
- All before- and after-school activities, athletic practices, and school events are canceled.
BASP Closed
- The district’s Before and After School Program (BASP) will not operate.
Remote Learning Plan in Effect (Asynchronous)
MGSD’s inclement weather remote learning plan will be used. All learning will be asynchronous, meaning students do not need to log in for live virtual classes.
Grades K–5
- Students should complete work in their inclement weather packet for January 28.
- Families are encouraged to check their teacher’s ParentSquare feed for additional instructions.
Grades 6–12
- Students should log into CANVAS and review their teacher’s ParentSquare messages for assignments and guidance.
