During the Town of Mooresville Board of Commissioners meeting on September 8, Mayor Chris Carney announced that he will retire on September 30, 2026. In his announcement, the Mayor expressed gratitude for the years spent serving alongside the Board of Commissioners and highlighted the achievements made during his tenure.
The Town of Mooresville appreciates Mayor Carney’s service and dedication to the community as Mayor and previously as a commissioner.
In accordance with the Town Charter, the Mayor Pro Tem performs the duties of the Mayor in his absence. More information regarding the leadership transition process will be shared in the future.
