Just two weeks after we first shared his story, Mooresville’s own Jarrod Liston took on one of the most iconic races in the world… and made it count in a powerful way.
On Monday, April 20, 2026, Jarrod ran in the 130th Boston Marathon, raising more than $23,000 for TargetCancer Foundation in honor of his best friend, Braedon Hensel, who passed away from cancer at just 22 years old.
It wasn’t just about crossing the finish line. It was about purpose, remembrance, and pushing forward for someone who can’t.
After the race, Jarrod shared:

“The crowd was amazing, pushing you the whole way and I achieved my marathon PR!!!”
From Mooresville to Boston, this run carried heart, strength, and a mission that continues beyond race day.
If you feel connected to Jarrod’s story and want to support the cause, his fundraising link will remain active for one more week. Click here.
Moments like this remind us what community, friendship, and determination truly look like.
