Downtown Mooresville came together in a powerful and heartfelt way on January 16, 2026, as the community gathered on Main Street for “Burnout for Biff,” a tribute honoring the life, legacy, and unmistakable spirit of NASCAR legend Greg Biffle. Held in front of Biffle’s Walk of Fame memorial in the heart of Race City USA, the event was a celebration rather than a somber remembrance, reflecting the energy and personality that defined Biffle both on and off the track.

Rather than silence and sadness, Main Street was filled with roaring engines, shared stories, and a strong sense of togetherness. Fans, friends, and neighbors gathered not only to remember Biffle’s accomplishments in racing, but also to honor the man he was to those who knew him personally and to a town that proudly called him one of its own. The theme, #BeLikeBiff, set the tone for the day, encouraging people to celebrate life with passion, generosity, and heart.

One of the most unforgettable moments came when YouTube racing personality Cleetus McFarland, whose real name is Garrett Mitchell, performed a massive burnout in a limousine on Main Street. Smoke filled the air as the crowd cheered, a fitting nod to Biffle’s well known love for burnouts and big personalities. The moment was loud, joyful, and symbolic of the fun-loving spirit that made Biffle such a fan favorite.

The event also emphasized giving back, a value that mattered deeply to the Biffle family. Community members were encouraged to support causes close to their hearts, including an American Red Cross blood drive and support for the Lake Norman Humane Society. Nearby, racing memorabilia and meaningful items were displayed at the Charles Mack Citizen Center, giving fans a chance to reflect on Biffle’s racing journey and the legacy he left behind.

“Burnout for Biff” was held in the wake of the tragic December 2025 plane crash that claimed the lives of Greg Biffle, his daughter Emma, and their son Ryder, along with Dennis Dutton, his son Jack, and Craig Wadsworth. While the loss is deeply felt, the event served as a reminder that legacies are not only measured by wins and trophies, but by the people touched along the way. On Main Street that day, surrounded by the town he called home, Greg Biffle’s legacy was unmistakably alive.
