Town of Mooresville to Hold Community Cleanup Event

MOORESVILLE, NC – The Town of Mooresville Stormwater Department and the Town’s Environmental Protection Committee (EPC) will hold a community cleanup event in the Eastern Heights community on Saturday, October 26, 2024, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in the parking loop across from Willow Valley Park at 464 E. McLelland Avenue, Mooresville.

Residents may drop off household and yard waste to be disposed of in roll-off dumpsters provided by the Town of Mooresville Sanitation Department. There will be tents/tables set up with informational handouts and snacks/waters. The Stormwater maintenance crew will also be available to collect waste and debris from residential properties in the area if residents are unable to transport to the drop off location themselves due to physical limitations or not having a suitable vehicle for larger items.

Residents may check in at one of the volunteer tents to be put on the list for home pickup. Please note—NO electronics, hazardous chemicals or paints will be accepted. NO tires/automobile parts will be accepted without prior approval.

Residents and visitors can also volunteer to take part in a stream cleanup and an overall area litter sweep/roadway cleanup. Volunteers may register online at MooresvilleNC.gov/CleanUp or at the event. Town and EPC staff will be on site to check-in volunteers, answer questions, and provide direction on allowable goods to dispose of.
