Families with girls in rising grades K-12 across western and central North Carolina can have s’more summer fun this season with new patch programs offered by Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont (GSCP2P).
The S’more Summer Fun Challenge embraces the great outdoors and encourages girls to spark their creativity and discover new family-friendly adventures with tons of activities to choose from- like watching fireworks or inventing a new trail mix recipe.

Families can also beat the heat and celebrate the joy of summer reading with the S’more Summer Reading Challenge. Participants will embark on a literary journey filled with stories, characters and discoveries with activities like reading in a fort or writing their own story.
“Our patch programs are a great way to explore a wide variety of topics and community resources,” said Jaclyn Johnson, Chief Mission Delivery Officer at GSCP2P. “While the girls get to try new things and learn how to set goals to earn a reward like a patch, their family members can also take part in the fun while enjoying quality time and bonding opportunities.”
Girl Scout programs are designed to align with state curriculum so girls can expand on their current education throughout the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. With a focus on STEM, life skills, outdoors and entrepreneurship, patch programs like the S’more Summer Challenges help girls connect to their communities, develop new relationships with local organizations and learn all about what their area can offer.
