PLP’s Speech and Debate Team competed last weekend at the Cavalier Invitational Speech and Debate Tournament at Durham Academy, competing against 54 other schools from 15 states and 765 individual competitors! Students competed from Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Florida, Arizona, and even Taiwan.
Krish Korrapati, PLP junior, placed 2nd in Congressional Debate out of 115 competitors, earning a coveted bid to the prestigious Tournament of Champions.
Riya Korrapati, freshman, also placed 2nd in her event, Dramatic Interpretation. This was her very first Speech and Debate Tournament.

Krish Korrapati earned a spot at the Tournament of Champions but will be unable to attend, as he was invited to present at a leadership conference hosted by Harvard University.
He was selected to deliver a workshop at the Harvard University Conference for Future Leaders in Public Service, focusing on youth advocacy, community leadership, and general service. The presentation and workshop will take place on April 11 and 12.
