Three staff members at Lake Norman Golf Club are being recognized for their quick thinking and selfless actions during a house fire near the course.
Nathan Schwarz, Golf Director, along with Dawson Thornton and Michael Fea, noticed smoke coming from the garage of a home along Hole #17. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, they immediately took action.

The three men entered the garage and removed cans of gasoline, helping to reduce the potential danger. They also called 911 and began knocking on the door to alert the homeowners, who were unaware that a fire had started.

Their efforts helped ensure that everyone inside the home, along with five dogs, was able to evacuate safely.

Their response came during a critical moment, as the fire and smoke could have quickly escalated. Because of their actions, the situation did not result in injuries and those inside were able to get out safely.
