Local Girl Scouts donated nearly 2,000 items to Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina and MANNA Food Bank of Asheville during December through Care to Share, a council-wide service project sponsored by Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont (GSCP2P).
This donation was made possible through GSCP2P’s Fall Product Program where Girl Scouts across western and central North Carolina sell magazines, candies and nuts to family and friends so their troops can earn start-up funds for the year. During the 2025 program, local Girl Scouts sold a total of 1,928 cans of Honey Roasted Peanuts as donations through Care to Share for local food banks.
“Our council is thrilled to support our communities and fellow non-profit organizations during the holidays,” said Alexis Braca, Director of Product Program Operations at GSCP2P. “Our product programs and council-wide service projects are teaching girls and their families both business skills and the importance of giving back to your neighbors all year long.”
Throughout the Fall Product Program and Girl Scout Cookie Program, girls in grades K-12 have fun and learn life skills like goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics. Then, Girl Scouts use their proceeds to power life-changing experiences like international travel, summer camp and more.
All proceeds generated in the product programs stay in the GSCP2P council to support Girl Scouting in 40 counties across western and central North Carolina to benefit all girls involved in Girl Scouting through program activities, council resources and scholarship funds for girl program participation, service projects and travel.

We Are Girl Scouts: Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Through programs from coast to coast, Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges—whether they want to climb to the top of a tree or the top of their class, lace up their boots for a hike or advocate for climate justice or make their first best friends. Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them.
