Mooresville is about to make its Netflix debut — and we couldn’t be more excited!
The Hunting Wives, an eight-episode thriller packed with mystery, drama, and a few dark secrets, starts streaming on Netflix Monday, July 21. While the show is set in the fictional town of Maple Brook, Texas, many of the scenes were actually filmed right here in Mooresville and across the Charlotte area.

If you notice a few familiar spots while watching, you’re not imagining things! Our very own Main Street was transformed into a Texas-style downtown, complete with flags, banners, and all the movie magic that comes with a full-scale production. The show brought some serious energy to town — and more than $40 million in spending across North Carolina.
The Hunting Wives stars Malin Åkerman, Brittany Snow, Dermot Mulroney, Chrissy Metz, and more. It follows a juicy story of obsession, scandal, and murder in a small-town setting — the kind of drama you’ll definitely want to binge (with popcorn, of course).

Mooresville has always been something special, and now the rest of the world gets a glimpse of it too. Whether you’re watching for the story or just to spot your favorite local landmarks, it’s a proud moment for our community.
So grab your friends, plan a watch party, and keep your eyes peeled for those Mooresville cameos. We’ll see you on Netflix!
And Mooresville’s spotlight keeps shining! A biographical film about legendary boxer Christy Martin was also recently filmed right here in downtown, bringing even more cinematic buzz to the area. Starring Sydney Sweeney and directed by David Michôd, the film wrapped production in late 2024 and is currently in post-production, with a release date still to be announced.

With more productions choosing our Main Street charm and local flavor as their backdrop, Mooresville is quickly becoming a favorite filming destination in North Carolina.

Who knows what (or who) we’ll see filming next?
