From Lake Norman To National Championships, This Local Angler Is Chasing His Dream

Meet Cabe Mackey, a Mooresville local who fishes on Lake Norman almost every week and competes as a college angler for Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory. His dedication has taken him to over seven National Championships with more than five Top Ten finishes and a win in the collegiate series.

Cabe has a Business Administration degree, is finishing his Marketing degree, and holds certifications in almost 13 different outboard motors from Yamaha and Mercury. When he is not studying, he installs electronics and trolling motors on boats.

This is his final college season and he is looking for one or two more sponsors to help cover the cost of travel, gas, lodging, and food. In return, sponsors get their brand featured on his boat, which turns heads everywhere he goes, along with consistent shoutouts on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram.

If you or your business would like to support a talented and hardworking local angler, reach out to Cabe directly through his Facebook page.
